Dark Souls II is one of the world's most beloved masochistic brawlers out there, featuring giant beasties to slay, a relatively open structure and death, lots and lots of player death. It's had a lot of extras released for it in recent months however so the developers are now going to re-release it under the banner of Scholar of the First Sin, featuring all the DLC and a few added features for good measure.
This is similar to the original Dark Souls' secondary release as the Prepare To Die edition, which also featured that title's expanded bosses and universe. While this one doesn't sound quite so punishing, I imagine it will be. The new trailer seems to suggest as much.
Set for release next April 7th, you'll also receive the trifecta of crown based DLC: Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the old Iron King and the Crown of the Ivory King.
Along with this extra content, you can also expect added NPCs with new storylines and a few balance tweaks to make the game just that little bit fairer, though not always in your favour.
If you're on the PC too, expect some graphical upgrades to take advantage of DX11 features like Tessellation.
Who's excited for this? I never played either the original or this one, so perhaps this will give me a good excuse to give it a try.
