In the upcoming DLC patch for Dark Souls III, Ashes of Ariandel, FromSoftware is adding a new PvP arena, letting you really test your combat prowess against the best sword swingers in the world. It's not clear at this time how you'll access the new arena, but the environment shown in the recently released trailer suggests it could be through one of the areas near the end of the base game.
You won't be fighting alone though. Along with up to two companions, you'll be able to strike other teams down, facing off in climactic duels in barren wastelands and with nothing but cold hard steel and hellfire to greet you.
If you'd rather go without the chance to team up on single enemies once you've dispatched their companions, then you can go it alone and one on one duel players in the PvP arena.
Of course it's not all about player versus player action though. The new DLC pack also adds a new icy locale for players to explore - together or apart - taking on ever more dangerous and terrifying enemies, that will no doubt take hours of grinding a piece to take down.
But it's so worth it in the end.
