If you have a team of adventurers that never quite made it to their final rest beneath the family manor in Darkest Dungeon, or just fancy starting up a new game in that ever so demoralizing roguelike game of delving into the darkness below, Crimson Court's release isn't far away now and the developers at Red Hook Studios have released a bunch of information about it to get you hyped for its release.
The big addition for players is the new hero class. Although we aren't told exactly what it is, the implication is that they are vampiric, as they are described as "awash in blood and delusion, they bear the burden of a thousand lifetimes."
You'll need their help too, to explore the new region in the manor's outcroppings: the Courtyard. There you'll find a new faction of deadly enemies, four new major bosses within that have their own "complex and devilish mechanics" to contend with. There's also a new wandering boss, The Fanatic, who will show up as and when he pleases, to deliver a nasty blow your favorite party of adventurers.
The new maps will be large and sprawling, testing your adventurers' abilities to the maximum and making it so that you need to be better prepared than ever before when you head into the unknown.
To help you in that respect, there are new prestige buildings which will offer your teams permanent bonuses and new trinkets for all heroes, giving them a slightly better chance to survive.
The Crimson Court will launch on June 19, with a price tag of $10.
