The Nintendo Switch doubles as a handheld, so it is normal for many people to want to personalize it. Unfortunately, it looks like the recently released console doesn't bode well with vinyl wraps.
In a Reddit post, dbrand - a company that specializes in making covers for electronic devices - explained that it has tested several options for skinning the Switch console and its JoyCon controllers but all of them failed.
@dbrand After removing the skin, it was obvious that the coating on the JoyCons do not play well with any kind of adhesive... (4/6) pic.twitter.com/m8kDluuTOX

Dbrand concluded that The Switch is not compatible with all existing skin types so they decided to refund all preorders and advised Switch owners not to buy it skins "under any circumstances."
Interestingly enough, Nintendo already sells official Switch skins. It is unclear whether those will suffer from the peeling issues reported by dbrand, or whether Nintendo has developed a special adhesive for them.
