Destiny 2 is one of the more hotly anticipated shooters of this year and like most new shooter releases, it looks gorgeous in its pre-release trailers and artwork. While there is never a guarantee of release-game quality from just a few early looks at it, it would be surprising if Bungie delivered something that looked uninspired, or like Mass Effect: Andromeda.
With that in mind, you might like to upgrade your graphics card before it comes out and what better time than now, when Newegg is offering a free pre-order of Destiny 2 with a selection of its discounted Nvidia GTX 1080 graphics cards?
Whether you opt for the standard 1080, the 1080 Founders Edition, the Ti or its Founders Edition, all of them come with a free copy of Destiny 2 - or at least, they will when the game comes out at the end of October on PC. It's slated to debut on September 6 on consoles, but PC gamers need to wait a little longer, until October 24.
However, while you will need to wait that long to play the full game, you can get a chance to take part in the beta which will take place in July for console gamers and in August for PC gamers. While we don't have a confirmed date for the latter camp as of yet, it's said to take place towards the end of the month.
Destiny 2 is set shortly after the events of the original game and its Rise of Iron expansion, where a massive army from the Red Legion Cabal led by Dominus Ghaul has attacked the last human city and cut Guardians off from the support of the Traveler. Together players will need to take the fight back to the Red Legion and secure humanity's future on Earth.
