If you like your Esports dramatic, this year's International 2016 has already featured some crazy matchups and we aren't even at the finals yet. It goes without saying that this piece will contain heavy spoilers for matches that have taken place so far, so if you don't want to know, stop reading now.
For everyone else, here's what's been happening.
Alliance faced off against EHOME this week in a surprisingly dramatic matchup, which saw back and forth action between both teams. Ultimately though, despite clever lane swapping from Alliance, EHOME was able to seal the victory with some smart play from Sven.
In the upper bracket, Evil Geniuses took on Newbee in what was expected to be an exciting game of former champions. Fans weren't disappointed, as once again two of the world's best teams battled back and forth to gain even a sliver of an advantage, with EG eventually finding it deep into the last game, winning their series 2-0.
But the big game? That was OG vs TNC Pro. Nobody expected this one to be a competitive tilt, but it was. OG, one of the favourites of The International, came in with all the confidence in the world, not realising it had a fight on its hands.
But fight it did. TNC Pro came hard and stole a win in the first game after a long, drawn out beating of their higher ranked opponents. Nobody was taking TNC Pro seriously before, but they were after that game.
It didn't help though. OG was ultimately eliminated 2-0 by a team that nobody expected to even break into the top 15. It will make for a very interesting International moving forward.
