Well that crept up on us quickly. If you were in need of a hot new Netflix anime to watch and you like what the streaming giant has done with the likes of Castlevania and Dragon's Dogma, you might want to check out a new series launching in March based on DotA 2. It joins a growing list of game-inspired anime that are coming down the pipe, including Tomb Raider, The Witcher, and Resident Evil, among others. It's launching far sooner though. In just a few weeks time.
"We’re excited to announce a brand-new anime series exploring the Dota universe like never before," Valve said on Twitter. "As fellow fans of Dota and its passionate global community, we look forward to sharing this new adventure with you when it premieres on Netflix March 25."
It's called DotA Dragon's Blood, but beyond that we don't have a lot to go on about how the long-standing MOBA will transfer to the small screen. Still, at least there's a trailer to give us a few hints:
Deadline is reporting that the show will consist of eight episodes and will feature both the dragon knight and Mirana, Princess of the Moon. The show was reportedly made in close collaboration with Valve, so it should be faithful to the characters and universe they hail from.
DotA: Dragons Blood will hit international Netflix streams on March 25.
