While we do know that Xbox One has been consistently trailing behind PlayStation 4 until Microsoft decided to stop releasing Xbox One sales numbers a few months ago. EA CFO Blake Jorgensen may have inadvertently revealed Microsoft's secret during a financial call yesterday.
In the call, the EA CFO revealed that there are 55 million current-gen consoles in the hands of consumers. For obvious reasons, Sony doesn't keep the number of PlayStation 4 units sold a secret and it currently stands at a solid 36 million units. Simple math puts the number of Xbox One units sold at 19 million units. This puts Xbox One sales just above half of PlayStation 4's, assuming that EA didn't consider Wii U a current-gen console.
The 19 million or less figure is inline market analysts' expectations. A recent analysis by Mary Jo Foley estimates that, of the 200 million live Windows 10 accounts, 18 million are Xbox Ones.
