If you ever wanted to play a game where the boss of a company quite literally beats the tar out of his employees, now you can, with EA's UFC 3. In the latest update, president of the UFC, Dana White, has been added to the game as a playable 'fighter' and for some reason, he's been given stats that far outstrip most of the fighters on the game's roster.
In Dana White's defense, he has some training experience in both boxing and brazilian jiu-jitsu -- that's how he started working with the Fertita brothers, who would go on to buy the UFC in the early '00s, keeping them fit through training. White also stays remarkably fit for a man of his age, having graced the covers of magazines like Men's Fitness before -- though there have been allegations of testosterone and HGH usage, with fans poking fun at the size (and often coloring) of his head as evidence.
As much as Dana White may be a tough guy in terms of average Joes though, a tough guy compared to UFC fighters he is not. His stats are so high, that he rivals some of the all time greats of the sport in their respective wheelhouses.
The decision to add him to the game with such high statistics seems both odd and insulting to the real fighters in the game. Especially those who, by the numbers, Dana White should easily beat.
Although the DLC is clearly designed to be silly -- and if you're the boss, why would you want yourself added to the game with terrible stats -- it still seems like a weird decision.
