Electronic Arts will permanently shut down its mobile multiplayer RPG Ultima Forever by the end of this month.
"As of Aug 29th 2014 (11:00 AM EDT), Ultima Forever will be shutting down its online services, and will no longer be available to play," confirmed EA in a message on the game's official forum.
Until the game is taken down all rewards are boosted, equipment degradation is disabled and premium-currency won't be available through the in-game store.
No reason was given for the unforeseen shutdown. In hindsight however, it is not that surprising given that EA has closed its developer, Mythic Entertainment, a few months ago.
