A decade and a half after releasing his breakthrough title, Gish, Edward McMillen, the man behind hit series like Super Meat Boy and Binding of Isaac, has announced that a new patch for the little black blob and his adventures is coming down the pipe.
Gish is a sidescrolling platformer with a unique twist, where you play as a black blob which can alter its physical characteristics to slide through holes, stick to walls, spike enemies, and more. It was released in 2004, a lifetime ago in game terms, originally as a Flash game, and then a more robust standalone experience. I played it a lot back in the day, but it's been a long time since I dabbled in that tarry-blob's antics. That might change now, though, as its new update could be quite an exciting one.
Gish is getting a 15 year ani. update (quality of life stuff and some bonus levels) next month. @noclipvideo is also working on something neat for it and @LimitedRunGames also has something Gishy in the works as well ;)

Announced by McMillen on Twitter, the update will add some quality of life improvements, as well as some bonus levels, and there's reportedly a new "Gishy" experience in the works from a companion developer.
McMillen also promised that Mewgenics development was set to pick up again soon, and that other secret projects involving worms will debut in the coming weeks.
Lots to look forward to from McMillen and Co. in 2020.
