Eidos Montreal has built a new graphics engine designed specifically for PC and modern consoles in order to power all its upcoming Dues Ex titles.
The new engine, dubbed the Dawn Engine, is based on a heavily modified version of IO Interactive’s Glacier 2 engine which powered Hitman: Absolution.
"In the past, we’ve relied on existing engines for our games. But in the end, we found that our creative vision was somehow limited," Community Manager wrote Sacha Ramtohul on the company's blog. "So we decided it was time for us to invest in creating an engine tailored for our needs."
