Tropico, the game series about dominating a small island's Carribean populace with might and policy, is set to make a comeback in 2018, with Kalypso Media announcing the next game in the series through a brand spanking new trailer.
Like Tropico games of the past, this one will focus on the management of a chain of island's near Bermuda, but it brings the game into the modern world, touching on new geopolitical movements like the UK leaving the European Union. The trailer even takes a swipe at Donald Trump, with a quickly interrupted radio broadcast in el Presidente's palace beginning with "plans for the wall have been approved."
As part of this contemporary take on the series, you'll now need to manage social media, dealing with your population's ability to not only criticize you directly from anonymous sources, but to also rally against you much more efficiently.
The description for the video on Youtube lets you know just how important it is for a strong leader such as yourself to take the reins of power: "In times of political turmoil and social unrest, the people are calling out for a visionary leader, one who will steer the fate of their country with foresight and ingenuity. Will you answer that call?"
Of course you will.
The new Tropico will launch on Xbox One, PS4 and PC at some point in 2018.
