An update preview for Manor Lords has given players a look at what's in the works for the medieval strategy game.
News in brief
- A new playable map and changes to the Castle Planner will be coming in the near future.
- The progression system will also be overhauled.
- In the same Steam post, Manor Lords x Youtooz Monitor Buddies were revealed.
Manor Lords will see a new playable area, Devil's Hill, as its name suggests, has a large hill in the middle of the area, with regions in a circle around it. The development team is considering a game mode where valuable resources will be placed on top of the hill, so the Lords fight over it.
The Castle Planner will also see some upcoming changes:
- It will be possible to individually upgrade each module and wall piece.
- Players can also selectively add platforms with battlements to walls.
- New module placement will no longer be constrained by the distance to the existing module. Instead, the bailey area is calculated and the size of the castle plan is limited by the lord's rank.
Manor Lords' Development Tree set for a rework
Finally, the game's progression system will be overhauled after some players commented that they didn't find the current Development tree immersive. Though this was always a work in progress, it will now undergo a complete rework, with things "slowly moving forward," according to the update preview.
More details on this as well as news on the game's AI-controlled towns will follow in the next update.
The post also shared that Manor Lords Monitor Buddies, designed in collaboration with YouTooz, are now available to pre-order for the next four weeks. For$30, Basket Man and the Manor Lord in his signature red cape can sit atop your monitor and survey your kingdom.
