Virtual reality is amazing. It transports you to another world and lets you move around and interact with it like never before. Even if you just strap on something as simple as a Gear VR headset too, eschewing the likes of the Oculus Rift with its quality head straps, or the HTC Vive with its room tracking and motion controls - it's amazing.
Just ask Daniel Cormier, current UFC Light-Heavyweight champion. While training at American Kickboxing Academy, he tried on a Samsung Gear VR for a virtual skiing trip and the famed Olympic wrestler could barely hold his balance while flying down a virtual slope at high speed.
Perhaps someone should have given him some ski poles for balance? Something to get his bearings a little perhaps.
In all fairness, VR would probably be a good scenario to test head movement and other aspects of MMA. Stick a tracker on the back of some pads and hit mits on top of a volcano. Why not?
