Evolve release date may have been revealed

Until now, the only information we had on Turtle Rock's upcoming Evolve with regards to its release, was that it was coming sometime this "fall." However, one retailer has listed the PS4 version as being released on the 5th of September.

While it could be a placeholder date, simply added to drum up a few headlines from writers like myself who jump on such things, the 5th is a Friday. That's not traditionally the release date of games in the US, but if Turtle Rock goes for an international release, that might be the best day for it. Likewise, chances are the Xbox One and PC versions of the game will launch at the same time as the PS4, so the fact that we've only see this as a PS4 release doesn't matter too much.

This is all according to Kdramastars anyway. So if it turns out to be phony, blame them.

Turtle Rock is the team behind the original Left 4 Dead, working on the second with Valve. Evolve looks set to expand on that multiplayer core, but changing it up by making it 4vs1, instead of 4vs4. Featuring four hunters going head to head with a giant monster, the game looks set to be one of the bigger and badder releases of the year.

If you haven't had a chance to play it yet, it's one I'd recommend going along to a local show for. It's great fun.
