Turtle Rock Studio's Evolve is turning out a bit like Titanfall. While people enjoyed the original concept, setting and asymmetrical multiplayer, it's ultimately proving a shallow experience that doesn't satisfy for long.
Still, to try and win back at least a few of the people that bought the game on launch day, Turtle Rock is releasing a number of new hunters and a monster March 31. The Behemoth we've seen before, but the hunters are an all new breed.
First up is the new assault, Torvald, who comes with a portable mortar launcher and quick-fire shotgun. He also has some shrapnel grenades which are designed to create a number of weak spots on the monster, like Valve's sniper rifle.
Next up is Crow, who funnily enough, doesn't have a crow, but a pet bat. The bat can fly off to try and track the monster, giving Crow a better chance to dome it. However he can also do some damage with a rifle than when charged up can punch through armour and deal damage directly to the monster's health and he can fire slowing shots too.
The new medic is a half fly half human, who has a remote healing bot that can keep everyone up while he charges his healing burst through doing damage. The support Sunny is more of a damage dealer though, packing a mini-nuke grenade launcher and a jetpack recharge ability.
She also has mini shield drones that can help keep people safe.
The only downside to all of this is that each hunter will cost $7.49 each and the monster $15.
If you think that's a lot, count yourself lucky. Here in the UK they cost the equivalent of $9.14 and $17.70.
