Sony confirmed today that its upcoming Sony Tablet S and Tablet P will allow their owners to download and play select games from the original PlayStation library.
The android-powered Sony Tablet S will hit the stores within a month and will retail for $499 for the 16 GB model and $599 for the 32 GB model. Both models sport a 9.4-inch touch display and an NVIDIA Tegra 2 graphics chip, as well as Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity options.
Sony Tablet P is a foldable tablet with two 5.5 inch touchscreens and 4G network capability that is set for a November release. Each screen can be controlled independently by Android apps, with one screen providing a PlayStation-style controller interface and the other showing gameplay, for example. Sony Tablet P pricing details have not been revealed yet.
Sony's Xperia Play smartphone is already available in market today and offers similar functionality, but it is not as successful as one would expect.
