Flappy Bird, the latest App Store game success story, has been taken off all mobile stores after its creator found that he "cannot take this anymore."
Flappy Bird isn't exactly the most ambitious mobile game. I fact, it is a simple infinite runner where the players maneuvers a bird through a series of pipes by tapping the screen. Nonetheless, the game rocketed to the top of the App Store and Google Play free games charts In January 2014.
Flappy Bird's success has spurred all kinds of discussions, with a lot of people bashing the game for its unwarranted success and others debating the reasons behind it.
In the end, the heat was too much for creator Dong Nguyen. He made several pleas through Twitter to "press people" asking them to "give him peace."
With his pleas falling to deaf ears, Dong decided to pull the game off App Store and Google Play entirely."It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore," he explained. "I also don't sell Flappy Bird, please don't ask. And I still make games."
