Fortnite swastika was an accident and it's being patched out

If you've been playing Fortnite a lot in the last couple of days, you may have bumped into a player with what they consider to be a hilarious trick up their sleeve. If you put down a series of metal panels together in a certain configuration, the tiles clip in a way that displays a swastika. While we can debate the merits of such a gag, Epic Games isn't pleased that it's there and has assured everyone that it will be patched out in short order.

As with most gaming and internet phenomenons, Redditors were some of the first to spot it and asked Epic for an explanation of why it was possible. Epic's swift statement made it clear that the ability to create such a symbol was entirely coincidental and that it would be fixing it soon.

"Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This was unintended and will be addressed ASAP by adjusting the metal piece art!" said Epic developer DanDaDaDanDan in response to the original thread (as per Kotaku).

If anyone still wondered whether this was a hoax or a photoshop trick though, the above video certainly proves it's viable in game with not much effort. It's an important one to fix too, as swastikas are illegal imagery in countries like Germany. Epic doesn't want to do anything that could limit Fortnite's user base, even temporarily.
