The Wii U is a console that I love for a few select titles, but has hardly set the world on fire at large. Still, there's always the hope that as its price continues to come down that a few select games will bring in the masses. While Project Treasure seems unlikely to do that, the fact that it's free to play will likely mean it garners at least a modest following.
It features four players, utilising melee and ranged weapons to cut down what appear to be zombies of some sort, in an attempt to steal loot and gold from abandoned pyramids and other structures.
It's not exactly clear why these characters are braving such depths for a bag of gold, but it seems like a good excuse to cut down some undead in a Bayonetta-like combat style, accompanied with some typical Japanese game grunting and screaming.
Weaponry is a mix of traditional bladed weapons and more contemporary, technologically advanced machine guns and rockets, with players seemingly able to chop and change between them throughout play, depending on how they wish to dispatch their enemies.
What do you guys make of the trailer? It could be fun, but those enemies look extremely generic.
