Do you find yourself playing older games more often than you do the latest AAA and indie releases? If you do, and you were planning to upgrade to Windows 10 on launch day, hopefully you gave some thought as to whether your classics will work on the new OS, as there's certainly a chance that they won't.
However, if you play those games through the GoG platform, then you probably have nothing to worry about, as the curator of some of gamings most classic titles and the publisher of some of its newest, has announced that almost all of its library of games will work flawlessly with Windows 10 when the operating system is released at the end of this month.
"When GOG.com launched in 2008, Windows XP was by far the most popular operating system among gamers. Ever since then we've meticulously tested our entire library to introduce Day 1 compatibility with every new Windows release. We've done it for Windows 7, we've done it for Windows 8 - now we're doing it all again for Windows 10," the company said in a blog post.
It did admit that there are likely to be a few titles with a few problems, but for the most part everything seemed to be working fine. The big caveat is that technically Windows 10 is still a work in progress by Microsoft and will likely require its own patches shortly after release. That could affect the compatibility of certain games, so although GoG is optimistic that most games will work without issue, some may not.
If any in particular require patches, they'll be served on the site or through the Galaxy launcher.
