Google Earth VR has become one of the first must-play VR applications, offering users the chance to visit just about anywhere in the world and view it from on high or down low, all using the power of virtual reality.
A currently HTC Vive exclusive available on Steam, Google Earth VR isn't a hefty application, but the wealth of content it offers is huge. You are given a space-station level view of the world to start with and able to zoom down to just about anywhere you want. There are cities to explore, oceans to fly over, forests to examine - all from a virtual perspective.
There are built in tour and featured locations which take you to specific locales around the world, giving you exciting perspectives of Rio de Janeiro, Rome, London, Manhattan and a whole host of other places. However the real joy with Google Earth VR is finding places yourself, or zooming around the map like Superman and swinging down on unsuspecting islands and rainforests to see what you can discover.
Where would you like to go in Virtual reality?
