GTA V launched just a few hours ago, but already it's one of the most popular games on Steam. While the peak players today might not be quite that of consistent standouts like DotA 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, GTA V has over 160,000 players right now, which puts it well ahead of other big titles like Team Fortress 2, Civilisation V and Football Manager 2015.
That isn't the game's peak however. Clearly a lot of people stayed up for the midnight launch of the game and in the earliest hours where US gamers cross over with EU ones, the total hit a staggering 196,700, making GTA V on the PC one of most popular day 1 releases ever.
That's not too surprising considering how well it did on other systems, but you would have thought that almost everyone that wanted to play GTA V would have done so by now.
Clearly not.
The new version of the game comes with improved aesthetics and an in-game editor that allows people to cut together footage of their most epic moments. Some are even going beyond the usual "check out this trick," videos too, creating full in-engine movies of San Andreas and it's characters.
What will you guys be doing when you first get your hands on the game?
