It never rains but it pours right? That seems to be the case with Warhammer 40,000 games at least. While Games Workshop spent years ignoring the fact that its franchises are ripe for digital counterparts, it finally relinquished its grip a few years ago and began allowing developers to use its license, but now it's gone crazy and has 10+ games in the works over just the last couple of years.
And now we have another one. Have we all stopped caring yet?
Santus Reach is the new game and it stars everyone's favourite lupine Space Marines, the Space Wolves and they're facing off against a number of orcs and enemies once again. While that sounds like every other 40k game we've seen in recent years, this one is a relatively small-scale battle game, and funnily enough for a tabletop source material, it's actually faithful as it's a turn based strategy.
We don't know much about the game as it stands, as the first teaser trailer merely showed us some units. They look alright, with enough detail to pass muster, but this is no Total War: Warhammer we're looking at here.
Nor is it Dawn of War III, but it could be fun to play a Warhammer title that isn't fast paced for once. Part of the fun of the tabletop is how you can take your time with your decisions.
Whatever it's like, Santus Reach will be released on PC before the end of the year.
