Microsoft has revealed that 140,000 users managed to sign up four the Halo 3 Beta in the first 24 hours since it begun accepting sign-ups through Halo3.com. Many users failed to sign-up as some server problems were encountered.
Microsoft promised Halo 3 Beta access to gamers as part of the celebrations for the anniversary of the release of the original Halo game. Access to the Beta is open to all XBox 360 owners who also have a hard drive, an Xbox Live Gold account and a Microsoft.NET Passport account linked to their gamertag.
Sign-ups are still open to the public and Bungie and Microsoft have announced that they will also introduce alternative ways for gamers to access the Beta although, they have not yet said how.
