Bungie has used its weekly update to inform readers that its next project and Microsoft exclusive title is progressing at such a rate that some aspects of the game are even playable.
It appears that Bungie carried out an event titled Bungie Fair last week which saw all departments of the developer, art, design, engineering, showcasing their work on the company's next game, generally thought to be Halo 3. According to the weekly Bungie update, the event was a sight to behold for fans of that particular game, including in-game visuals and even sound effects and music. The writer also seems to be very excited by the user interface (UI) of the game which he claims utilises the increased resolution and power of the new platform. According to the Bungie insider the current version of the Halo 3? UI is even mightier than that of TiVo and could definitely be considered finished, although revisions are very likely to take place by the time the title is released.
The most exciting news in the weekly report comes when the Bungie employee boldly claims ...even some gameplay tests, demos and experiments, are surprisingly polished and playable. We're all in the giddy position of being "forced" to play moments and elements from the next project.
The good news stops here since the rest of the report focuses on complaints about the type of player you get to meet on XBox Live, I'm sure some lawyer ears must be twitching at MS HQ.
This is good news for fans of the Halo series and especially for Microsoft since the XBox 360 launch lineup has been described by most as poor. It is almost certain that MS must be urging Bungie to get Halo 3 done as soon as possible so in some respects the comments available above also seem to serve some strategic purpose.
