Halo 5's beta is 10GB

If there's one thing that seems to characterise this generation of games more than their lack of 1080p resolution and a restriction to sub 60 frames per second, it's that their install sizes are much larger. Blame the larger storage space in the new-gen consoles, or the fact that their 8GB of shared system memory means they can handle higher resolution textures, but regardless, new gen games are big.

Shadow of Mordor and the Evil Within are both 50GB+ installs with the high res texture packs and clearly that trend isnn't stopping any time soon. Halo 5's beta test for example, is 10GB.

This will only give players access to the multiplayer in the game, but thhey'll need to make sure they have at least 10.27GB of spare space if they want to take part.

Clearly this is just a road we're going down as both betas for The Crew and Destiny were over 14GB a piece, so this is something we're just going to have to get used to.

Here's hoping that this Halo doesn't run into quite so many problems as the Master Chief Collection, which despite being released weeks ago is still experiencing game breaking bugs with regularity.
