If you though the arcade experience was dead, think again. If you thought the Halo franchise was done, think again. Both elements combine in this latest release to see Halo make its way into the modern arcade, with the Fireteam Raven experience.
This monster cabinet isn't the kind your grandad played back in the '80s. This is a massive machine with dual displays,quad-gun mounts with a full pivot system for up to four player cooperative play and tonnes of added extras to give you the look and feel of sitting aboard a turret in the Halo universe.
Sure, it's a rails shooter, but that's one thing that arcades do really well. If you tell us you don't pop a quarter into a Time Crisis machine when you stumble across one in the back of an arcade, you're a liar.
This game is very much like that, or the similar titles based on other popular franchises released in recent years, like Terminator, Rambo, and Alien. Set in the very earliest days of the Halo universe, where the very first Halo has been discovered and the humans and Covenant are fighting over it, players will take on the role of one of many combat supersoldiers known as Spartans. They'll have individual health bars and ammo counts, as well as specialized weapons, including explosive grenades, to employ as and when needed to take down tougher foes.
There are bosses, vehicle segments, kill counts and more to keep players occupied inside the overarching shell design.
Expect Halo: Fireteam Raven to show up in Dave and Buster arcades this summer, before seeing a worldwide roll out later this year.
