Despite Hatred, the controversial title that has you murdering innocent civilians in the most brutal fashion possible, being pulled from Steam just 24 hours ago, it has now reappeared as part of Greenlight, where it's enjoying popularity that makes it the seventh most talked about title on the platform.
The debut game from developer Destructive Creations does away with the pretence of many other shooters, which offer a paper thing reason for why you should be mowing down hundreds of people. Often they're bad guys like private military organisations or people from countries that won't complain. In Hatred however, they're just innocent civilians.
It's your "Hatred" for them that drives you to kill them apparently. No word on whether the game will offer up any sort of deeper story.
Regardless though, the game is back on Steam and looks to be increasingly popular, at least in terms of those that want to see it break through the Greenlight process. It's not clear if many of those people supporting it in an anti-censorship capacity will actually buy it, as a lot have voiced support for its creation, despite feeling apathetic about the actual gameplay.
What do you guys think of it? Do you think Valve should have kept it off Steam? And will you play it when released?
