His creator doesn't want to have anything to do with him, except for the royalties, he is often referred to as the most annoying amphibian ever but he has been the success story of this year and he's about to get his own video game.
Crazy Frog started life as The Annoying Thing, a more appropriate name in every way, and in the words of his creator ...for no particular reason, other than just having fun modelling. The ambition was to make a character that gives an annoying impression. He succeeded to such an extent that mobile content company, Jamster, soon bought the rights and started marketing Crazy Frog ringtones. The result, as anyone who visited the U.K. for even one day will confirm, was immensely successful. The annoying Ah... ring ding ding can now be heard in hospitals, cinemas and libraries across the U.K. as the naked but always helmet-wearing amphibian, rides his imaginary bike.
Until now most of the U.S. had been spared the frog onslaught and there had been no plans to bring the obnoxious song, currently the number 1 U.K. single beating off competition from U2 and Coldplay, across the pond. All this may change however, as the people that manage the Frog have announced they are ready for a game deal. Wallaroo Licensing, owners of the worldwide exclusive licensing rights of Crazy Frog for the electronic entertainment market, are looking for partners for a game.
Wallaroo describe gaming as the next logical step for CF and we have no reason to doubt that it is, our advice however, would be to put some real effort into the game and not go for the quick buck as they did with that truly despicable song.
