Following a couple of weeks of the special Fire Festival in Hearthstone, Frost Lord Ahune has now taken over proceedings and turned it into a Frost Festival instead. Set to run for the next three weeks, all participants of Arena mode will receive specialised rewards, including Knights of the Frozen Throne packs.
The Midsummer Frost Festival will also introduce a new, Lich-King-themed Tavern Brawl for players to take a stab at, as well as giving every battlefield a somewhat frosty makeover.
The big feature of the festival though is that it's easier than ever to win card packs and recoup your investment in Arena mode runs. While traditionally you have to start from the beginning and work your way to even a single victory, Arena runs during the Frost Festival will see you start with a free win, so even if you have terrible card picks and luck, you'll still have a 1-3 record by the end (thanks PCG).
Just playing those three losses will net you a free pack for the upcoming Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion, so there's extra incentive to take part in Arena mode over the next few weeks, even if it's something you don't typically dip your toes into.
The festival has already begun, so get your decks ready if you haven't already, and will run for a further three weeks.
