There have been a number of solid video game documentaries released in recent years, covering the hobby's earliest beginnings right through to the modern age. However if you'd like to see something similar, but in a more entertaining context, a new History of Gaming audio visual event is being put together by the likes of DJ Yoga and Gamer Disco, to create something entirely new.
Set to be screened at select IMAX cinemas around the U.S. starting in 2017, the show will feature a specially crafted soundtrack - think something in the vein of Yoda's recent Stranger Things mixtape - along with visuals from various games from throughout history.
The idea is to enjoy the musical accompaniment as much as the visuals, with Yoda looking to sample classics like Super Mario, Tetris and Outrun to craft the unique soundtrack for the experience. Jet Set Radio will feature too, alongside Metal Gear and Killer Instict.
Some of these games may be playable live, though that's something that the developers are playing around with so that people don't just end up showing up and playing games all evening - there's a show to watch after all!
What soundtrack and game mashup would you be ready to party too?
