Intel auto-overclocking Maximizer is now available

If you've always found the idea of overclocking your Intel CPU a little nerve racking, Intel has released a new tool to take the pressure off for you. The Intel Performance Maximizer will automatically overclock your chip, running it through a variety of frequencies, voltages, and temperature ranges to find an overclock that your chip can run well without stability issues and without danger to your hardware.

This software works in a similar manner to Nvidia's automated overclocking with its RTX-series graphics cards. Instead of running lengthy stability tests, it looks at the mathematics at play within the chip at any one time, and uses the minute errors that appear from an unstable overclock to halt advances and play with voltage and temperature to get it back under control.

Still concerned? Intel is so confident that its new tool will be able to safely overclock your chip, that if it somehow causes damage to it and the CPU is no longer able to operate properly, Intel offers a one time replacement.

Compatible with ninth-generation K-series CPUs, including the 9600KF, 9600K, 9700KF, 9700K, 9900KF, and 9900K, the Intel Performance Maximizer is a free download for any one who wants it.

Although we think you'll probably still be able to get a greater overclock for your system if you handle all the settings manually, but this is a great option for those who find overclocking a bit scary or tedious — or both.

What kind of overclocks are you guys running? I have a Ryzen 2600 that hits around 4.15GHz myself.
