Today Intel introduced the 6th Generation Intel Core processor family.
The Skylake-based family comes in 4 distinct series. The Y-Series is dedicated to 2-in-1 convertibles, tablets, and Intel's new Compute Stick venture. The U-Series is aimed at thin and light notebooks and "portable" all-in-one machines. The H-Series is built for gaming notebooks and mobile workstations, while the S-Series is designated for desktops, all-in-one machines, and mini PCs.
Additionally, Intel Core M processors will now be part of the Y-Series and will include brand levels Intel Core m3, m5 and m7 processors to provide people with more clarity and choice in finding the Intel Core M processor-based device that best meets their specific needs.
