Intel has cancelled all of its advertising agreements with game development website Gamasutra after the site published an opinion piece slating the gaming culture.
"Intel has pulled its advertising from website Gamasutra," confirmed Intel spokesperson Bill Calder. "We take feedback from our customers very seriously especially as it relates to contextually relevant content and placements."
@BuckSexington Yes, our partners at @intel were flooded with complaints over a recent opinion piece, and they did pull an ad campaign.

Apparently, Intel didn't take action until it was "flooded" with emails from #GamerGate supporters decrying Leigh Alexander's Gamasutra article, "Gamers' don't have to be your audience. 'Gamers' are over."
In her opinion piece, Leigh criticizes the current "gaming culture" which she finds to be largely sexist. She also urges game developers to renounce that culture and create a new one that embraces all genders, races and sexual orientations.
A large number of gamers felt that Leigh was attacking their way of gaming so they rallied under the banner of "GamerGate to dispute her point of view. Needless to say, the group sees Intel's decision as its first big win and it is enticing its members not to wind down.
