IPod Gets Its First Virus

The first IPod virus has been detected, but poses no threat.

The virus, named "Podloso" is just a proof of concept virus which poses no threat. For Podloso to work, the user must install Linux on his IPod and then he must install the virus. Podloso then scans the device's hard disk and infects all executable .elf format files. Any attempt to launch these files will cause the virus to display a message on the screen which says "You are infected with Oslo the first iPodLinux Virus".

Podloso was detected and reported by Kaspersky Laps.
