Sammy Studios has released some details of its upcoming Xbox Live game, "Iron Phoenix." The title is the first ever 16 -player fighting game, introducing a new genre to online games as a squad-based kung-fu brawler. "Iron Phoenix" is slated for release on
Xbox in Holiday 2004 and is not yet rated.
Iron Phoenix follows the fate of an arsenal of legendary weapons forged from the shards of a massive meteor. A legend speaking of absolute power bestowed on anyone who controls the weapons is a call to arms among the greatest warriors in the Far East. A final battle is arranged to determine who controls the fearsome arsenal, and in turn the world. Iron Phoenix features online fighting for up to 16 players over Xbox Live, nine deadly weapons with unique moves and massive combos, and expansive environments designed for strategic team combat and wire-fu style fighting.
