While PlayStation 4 players are able to pre-order the disc-only version of Rock Band 4 for $59.99, their Xbox One counterparts will have to shell out $79.99 for a similar package.
But there is a valid reason behind the price difference. Existing PlayStation 3 Rock Band peripherals can be plugged into PS 4's USB port and used with Rock Band 4 directly; On the other hand, Xbox 360 Rock Band peripherals can be connected to Xbox One through an adapter.
Seeing that it is impossible for Xbox One owners to play the game without its new peripherals or the adapter, Mad Catz decided to bundle the adapter with the disc-only version of Rock Band 4.
All other SKU prices are identical for both consoles and Mad Catz plan to sell the Xbox adapter standalone for people who purchase the game digitally.
