If you've never played ThatGamingCompany's landmark explorative third-person puzzle adventure title, Journey, then you're in luck. Not only do you get to experience this game for the first time — something that all too many Journey players wish they could do again — but you'll get to do so on the PC too. Journey, once a PS4 exclusive, is coming to the Epic Games Store on June 6.
Journey was a seminal game for ThatGameCompany, not just because it helped launch the developer into stardom, but becaues it pioneered some new game mechanics which many others have tried to emulate since. Arguably a walking simulator to some and a meditative adventure game to others, Journey is a title that has an entirely silent protagonist and zero communication abilities, even in multiplayer mode which allows other players to silently guide you through the game if they wish.
It's a beautiful experience with gorgeous aesthetics, a haunting soundtrack, and a story that's surprisingly deep considering the reliance on atmosphere over anything else.
When it hits PC, Journey will enjoy an uprate to 4K resolution support, and will retain its modest multiplayer functions. It's set to be an Epic Store exclusive to start with, but who knows if that will change in the future. It will go on sale for $15, but can be pre-ordered now for just $5.
