Kingdom Come: Deliverance hasn't even been released yet, but that hasn't stopped modders from already getting to work on creating some seriously impressive additional content for it. Perhaps the most ambitious of them all is the Game of Thrones mod, which will turn the medieval landscape into Westeros.
Called "Seven Kingdoms," and not to be confused with the great RTS games from the '90s, the mod will completely change the entire game of Kingdom Come, remaking it into a world that contains all of the intrigue, expansive landscapes and backstabbing of the Game of Thrones world. That's an awful lot of work, but these modders aren't starting completely from scratch. The team behind Seven Kingdoms had already been hard at work for some time on bringing Westeros into the Total War: Atilla game, but because of that game's poor modder support, they've now transitioned over to work on Kingdom Come instead.
"Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a brand new game utilizing the powerful CryEngine," the modders said, via PCGamer. "This means it's easier to create quality assets and to render them with next-gen shaders. The open-world and story-driven aspects of the game are better suited to the Game of Thrones universe, giving us much more potential for new features and gameplay modes. Most importantly, Warhorse Studios stands behind the modding community and has been very vocal about supporting mods."
The mod is still in the very early stages, but the developers already have some 3D assets they can bring into the game when it's ready. Although there isn't much to show just yet, we can take a good guess at what they will look like when complete, as the Riverlands setting for the mod will be able to leverage a lot of existing artwork. It's not clear yet which characters or locations will make the cut, but it's expected that representatives from several key houses, including Starks, Lannisters, Tullys, Bracken and Karstarks will show up in various places throughout the game world.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance will debut on February 13, while the Seven Kingdoms mod has no defined release date.
