It's been a while since we heard much about Kingdom Come: Deliverance and its detailed medieval world, but the developers are still beavering away at it and much of their time must have been spent in beautifying the world as, despite its somewhat gritty combat and questing system, the setting for the game is absolutely stunning.
Shown off in a new teaser trailer for the game, we see luscious forests, vast open plains, sprawling cities and masses of common folk dotted around the sprawling landscape. Skyboxes and water effects are gorgeous, locales look busy and lived in and there's a real tranquillity to the sandbox that suggests living back in the harsh medieval worlds of yore wouldn't be quite as terrible as most properties would have you believe.
Still, there are a lot of soldiers to contend with at the end there. We're not sure we're quite ready to take them on just yet, but perhaps with time and training we will be.
Developed on the detailed CryEngine 3, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is under development at Warhorse Studios and will be the first game for the fledgling company. It promises a lot, but will it deliver? The game is slated for release at some point in 2017 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, though we're told a big announcement is coming as soon as June 9.
What do you think it could be?
