While most gamers are enjoying their new HDTVs, a new technology promises to surpass both HDTV LCD and plasma displays.
Novalux, one of the main developers of the upcoming laser TV technology expects to see Laser TVs sold to consumers within a year.
Sony has already displayed a Novalux-powered laser TV technology at its booth at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, though the company has yet to formally announce a laser-based product.
The new laser TV technology boasts half the production cost, double the color range, and three-quarters less power consumption. But being a projection technology means that it won't be as thin as LCDs. The Laser TV Sony displayed in CES was about 10 inches thick.
