Although the world of Pokemon is always evolving, we never thought the developers at Game Freak would delve into Dr Robotnik's laboratories for their latest inspiration. For the upcoming Pokemon movie, Volcanion and the Ingenious Magearna due out this year, Ash is set to meet a brand new mythical Pokemon. It's called Magearna if you hadn't already guessed.
But as with many latter generation Pokemon, Magearna looks rather bizarre. With large robot rabbit ears, big googly eyes and a Pokeball/dress-like body, it's not the kind of design that is going to get generation I fans excited, but perhaps it will do something for the kids just discovering the world of Pokemon today.
Oh how complicated they have it.
According to the break down for the new movie, Ash meets the artificially built Magearna when he is accidentally twinned with Volcanion. The mythical, presumably Steel, Pokemon was said to have been created 500 years before and is partly ruled by and helps rule, a mechanical kingdom that a nefarious individuals wish to gain control of.
I must admit it's been a long time since I've delved into the Pokemon anime. Although I remember enjoying the very first movie, the TV show had so much bland writing and acting its hard to remember anything about it but the occasional fan service.
Any of you still enjoy a bit of Pokemon?
