The Sonic the Hedgehog movie looked completely ridiculous in its first trailer, falling right to the bottom of the uncanny valley and prompting a severely mocking response from the wider community of old Sonic fans. That pushed back the film's release as the developers scrambled to redesign the spikey protagonist to something that wouldn't offend people's eyes quite so much.
Since then, an allegedly leaked look at the remade trailer has been well received. Which means that the creators can rest a little easy. They managed to claw back whatever little goodwill there was for a Sonic movie in the firstplace.

It's not the trailer itself, that will probably land in a day or two now that the "leaks" have confirmed people are less likely to hate it this time around. The last time the creators were unsure about what people would think, they leaked a look at Robotnik and when that went down well enough, they released the trailer. I guess they didn't bank on Sonic being so poorly received.
But now at least, he won't be hated. Maybe. The little blue guy still looks weird, but we're heading in the right direction at least.
