It really was quite bizarre when we learned that 2K Games new Mafia III title would debut with a 30 frames per second limit on PC. Considering how hefty some people's rigs are, this was obviously far less than their powerful systems could handle, so people understandably felt like this was a waste of potential frames.
Fortunately 2K seemed to have actually listened and has announced that following the game's release today, players can expect a patch to debut over the weekend, which will bring it in line with most PC games, unlocking the frame rate so that people can enjoy it at their own speed.
Once the patch has been applied, gamers heading into the settings menu will discover options for 30, 60 and unlimited frames per second, letting them have much more control.
Other visual improvements will be added to the settings menu too, we're told, which should give PC players greater control - as it should have been in the first place.
Originally announced back in 2012, Mafia 3 has been in development for some time, but has debuted to positive praise from critics and gamers alike. Nobody liked that limited frame rate though, that seemed dumb.
