Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a party game. That means you need people to play it with. One player dons the VR headset - or stares at a 2D display if they are less well equipped - and attempts to diffuse a bomb at the instructions of the other players who are reading the manual to make it happen.
It's a tense game that involves lots of rifling through paper or PDF pages, finding the right clues and hints needed to shut down the explosive for good. It's fun, but no fun if you have no one to play with.
Enter Youtuber Devan Hurst, who instead of taking the game and finding someone to play with, decided he'd create a virtual play mate for himself. Programming an AI to listen in to his commands and instructions, it will read him back the necessary information he requires to beat the game.
Although the computer controlled teammate doesn't have the more reassuring of voices, it is impressively accurate, listening in to Hurst's responses and giving him exactly what he needs to get it done.
It's not the most social way to play the game, but it is impressive. Certainly better than learning the entire manual by heart too.
