The MMO, Marvel Heroes, was set to shut its doors for good at the end of 2017 after four years of operation. However, with ongoing financial issues, the developer, Gazillion Entertainment, has announced that the game will end tomorrow, November 24 instead. That means that most of the team behind it has now been let go too.
"The bank has decided not to pursue any course of action that sees Gazillion meaningfully continue into the New Year and this requires that the company terminate its workforce," a leaked, 'company-wide email' sent to PCGamesN reads.
To maintain the game's operation until its final closure tomorrow, some staff will remain on, but only until the end of the week.
In a complete dissolution of the company, Gazillion officially lost the Marvel license on October 23, with Disney revoking it in the wake of the company's financial difficulties. Employees weren't told until the 11th of November about the dire state of the company, and have now been informed that any of their paid time off they were owed will not be paid due to a lack of available funds.
Some of those developers who have been let go have been posting on social media lamenting the situation and their own employment status.
Officially unemployed on the day before thanksgiving.

One possible ray of hope lies in publisher Perfect World Entertainment, with one employee claiming that it may be able to take care of affected developers
Sorry my dude. Keep active with us and we'll take care you all. On the other hand, sometimes it might be for the best even though it sucks right now.

Only time will tell if that's the case, but for now at least, Gazillion devs are not having an easy Thanksgiving.
