According to Reuters, Microsoft will slash its Xbox 360 price by 30% in Japan, making it cheaper than both its competitors' offerings of Playstation 3 and Wii.
Starting September 11th, Xbox 360 Arcade model price will be lowered by 8000 yen to 19,800 yen ($183). For comparison, Wii sells for 25,000 yen ($231) and Playstation 3 for ¥39,800 ($368).
Microsoft has been struggling to sell its Xbox 360 in Japan until 2 weeks ago when Namco Bandai released an Xbox 360 exclusive role-playing game called "Tales of Vesperia" which caused Xbox 360 to run out of stock in Japan for the first time.
Xbox 360 Premium and Elite models will also see price cuts of around 5000 to 8000 yen.
