Microsoft's upcoming Quantum Break comes with two distinctive selling points: cross-buy and cross-save.
As part of the cross-buy promotion, all gamers who pre-order the Xbox One version of Quantum Break will get a free PC copy of the game. Additionally, the cross-save feature allows progress to be synchronized seamlessly between the two versions.
Microsoft's Head of Xbox division, Phil Spencer, promised that cross-buy will be a platform feature that extends to third party games as well as Microsoft's own titles.
@Nahkapukki @MSFTY @Nicodemus9 @DCNationSlade We'll make it a platform feature. We think it's good for gamers.

Cross-buy and Cross-save have been available on PS4 and PS3 for a while now, but adding PC to the loop feels more rewarding for us. Having the ability to switch between gamepad and keyboard + mouse and between TV screen and PC monitor or perhaps a laptop sure gives more freedom than switching between current and last gen PlayStations.
Fingers crossed, Microsoft will deliver on this promise.
